We are looking for a thoughtful and passionate Director Product Management to lead the Internal Site Search Product team. This team is responsible for the overall internal site search customer experience across all SHC properties (sears.com, kmart.com, SYWR, mobile) which encompasses the relevance and quality of the search results returned for customer queries as well as the presentation and of the results. Search is a core component for customer experience and is the key way customers find the items they are looking for. If you are passionate about creating a great real-time search experience, accelerating e-commerce, and bringing cutting-edge technology to bear on a large scale web site, this position is for you. In this role, you will work closely with our engineering, informational retrieval, machine learning, business intelligence, user experience, and user behavior analyst’s counterparts to deliver a best-in-class site search experience to our customers. The required skills for this position are:
• Experience with managing in-house Site Search customer experience, product, and capabilities
• Domain expertise in the following areas:
o Customer Experience (Results display, Autofill, Results Filtering)
o Search Relevancy and User Experience
o Search KPIs and Competitive Analysis
o Linguistics
o Site Search Platforms – Solr Preferred
• Ability to use analytics and competitive research to make data driven decisions
• At least 10 years of industry experience
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work in a matrixed environment
Job Requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsibility for the ecommerce internal site search capabilities (products) which support the overall web experience, with direct accountability for the success of the site search product suite with the goal of becoming best in class.
• Management of each individual product lifecycle, from understanding a concept or the current state, assessing gaps, defining key capabilities, working across the organization to develop requirements, working with IT to understand tradeoffs, through product launch and the ongoing management of the product post launch.
• Use market research, customer surveys, and web analytic data to understand customer and business needs, discovering latent gaps, identifying new opportunities to ultimately define a product roadmap.
• Serves as expert on trendsetting practices in e-commerce site search, including analysis and documentation of competitor best practices in order to continue to develop new enhancements and capabilities.
• Develop cogent and realistic business case scenarios for new product capabilities – to rationalize resource investments.
• Transform complex concepts into executable plans and customer experiences
• Manage product innovation through cross-functional teams focusing on new product capabilities and services.
• Anticipate industry and product trends, capability prioritization and tradeoffs, balancing business needs versus technical constraints.

Education/Training
4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Master’s degree preferred
Experience
• 10 years of eCommerce or software industry Product Management experience
• 6 years product management experience in a site search user experience
• Dynamic and results-oriented, with positive attitude and solid work ethic
• Is known for identifying critical opportunities and deconstructing vision into simple yet effective customer-centric plans
• Proven experience in setting direction, prioritizing development and user experience activities, and driving new product development investments in an organization using Agile methodologies
• Expert problem-solver adept at finding better ways to merchandise, sell and operate
• Delivers success through building, driving, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve bottom-line results
• Ability to create strategic partnerships
• Experience working with Omniture Analytics and Solr Search Engine Platform a plus

Role specific abilities/skills
• Ability to use analytics and research to focus data driven decisions
• Product leader with the ability to synthesize customer needs and competitive insights into a product plan
• Understand the customer shopping behavior through a variety of methods
• Expert at cross-group coordination/collaboration
• Troubleshooting and data triangulation skills
• Expertise in internal site search engines (Solr), e-commerce, information retrieval, machine learning, user behavior analysis, or other related domains is strongly preferred
• Experience working on large-scale projects.
• Track record of deploying cutting-edge user experiences.
