Practice Development Specialist ( Finance & Private Equity)
The candidate work closely with the Practice Development Manager (“PDM”), other practice development team members, Practice Group Leaders (“PGLs”) and partners in managing all aspects of the practice group including providing marketing, business development, lateral partner and counsel integration, attorney development and training, knowledge management and other business and administrative support critical to its day-to-day operations and long-term growth. Will contribute to the overall success of the practice group by helping to develop and implement [practice group] strategy within the context of the overall firm strategy. Support a variety of cross-practice group, cross-office, client-specific and firm initiatives as needed. Work closely with PDM, PGLs, attorneys and other internal firm resources to develop and implement practice group strategic plan. Support practice group marketing and business development efforts by coordinating and preparing pitches and proposals, responses to RFPs, client presentations and other deliverables. Work with PDM to create and maintain marketing materials and collateral through coordination with the Creative and Proposals teams. Help identify, assess and coordinate industry visibility and externally focused activities, working closely with the firm’s Events, Creative and PR teams. Assist PDM and partners in conducting research and gathering and analyzing practice group, industry, competitive and client-specific data to inform and support business development and marketing initiatives. Coordinate and prepare legal ranking submissions, including working with PDM and PGLs to determine rankings strategy for each submission, drafting and finalizing submissions accordingly and tracking submission information from year to year. Assist PDM and PGLs with the onboarding and integration of lateral partners and counsel into the practice groups, including helping prepare and execute integration plans and track progress. Maintain internal practice group data and resources, such as client lists, experience lists, intranet sites and various databases. Work with PDM and PGLs to plan and execute practice group and partner meetings, as well as internal practice group social and team-building events. Assist and at times take the lead in drafting practice group presentations working with PDM, partners and PGLs. Assist PDM in supervising and developing the team’s Practice Development Coordinator. An undergraduate degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in a law firm, professional services firm or other corporate environment is required.
