Assistant General Counsel – Special Contracts Marketing
The candidate will support initiatives and medium and high complexity engagements with third party suppliers across the firm's enterprise. In particular, it will be supporting complex engagements for the Marketing and Technology lines of business, but may support other areas as needed. It will be responsible for handling various marketing and business initiatives and drafting and negotiating contracts with the firm's third-party service providers for a wide variety of services and products, including, but not limited to, master services, online hosting platforms, outsourcing, consulting, influencer marketing, licensing, talent, and cloud based services. The Strategic Contracting Legal team provides legal services related to the acquisition of technology, consulting, and related products and services for the firm's segments and functions across the enterprise. The Strategic Contracting Legal team works with the firm's Sourcing & Supply Management, Third Party Risk Management, and other stakeholders to ensure that all legal, regulatory, data security, privacy, and related risks are appropriately identified and addressed in third party supplier contracts. This position is also responsible for advising clients regarding existing contractual obligations, and regulations applicable to the services and products as provided to a financial institution, reviewing advertising and collateral materials, and for helping manage disputes with the third party suppliers. Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and licensed to practice law in good standing. Minimum 3-5 years of post-bar experience in a law firm, government, and/or corporate settings. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize matters, utilize time management skills, and move between matters fluidly. Ability to handle a heavy workload, manage stress effectively and meet critical deadlines. Team-oriented mentality and excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products. Experience or related training in the financial services industry. Experience in a corporate legal department, especially a financial institution, having successfully held positions of advancing responsibility. An understanding of marketing engagements. Comfortable working in the entrepreneurial environment of a large, complex corporation. Familiarity with Ariba and Archer.
