Patent Engineer
The candidate will assist patent attorneys with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Work hand-in-hand with inventors on newly created products. Assist in the identification of patentable inventions. Research current patented technologies to best assist clients in patentable work. Draft patent applications with the assistance of the patent team. Track the patent application process from initial application to granted patent to ensure the team remains on track. Complete ability searches regularly. Solve client challenges and respond to client needs. Respond to office actions and correspond with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Consistently meet billable hour requirements. Identify issues and provide suggestions to day-to-day problems; and prioritize and effectively complete daily tasks. Share information by using data and information to support an argument or point of view; keep team informed about progress and problems; avoid surprises; and understand the appropriate level of confidentiality required. Give positive and constructive feedback to peers; train new employees; find solutions to a problem; work autonomously; and be motivated to anticipate future business needs. Attend required training and accept planned change willingly. Work as a member of the team, and understand the goals of the team. Also understand that team members' needs, ideas and solutions vary. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required. Should preferably have 3-4 years of patent experience.
