Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Virtualization Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA or Remotely.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Functions as infrastructure engineer to support virtualized environments include virtual networks, hosts and systems support across a wide variety of programs, acquisitions, and environments.
Support wide variety of project teams in cloud operations and concerns to address a multitude of project needs
Enhance and protect security of various environments. Ensure tenants comply with security guidelines.
Manage and monitor various systems in terms of operations, reliability checks, security compliance checks and accessibility.
Attend and engage in weekly meetings regarding project activities.
Support various migration business needs such as migration support, migration planning, archiving, test execution and creation.
Successfully execute license renewals, upgrades and server refresh activities.
Implement, configure and integrate enterprise level security tools.
Perform hands on support as required to meet task objectives.
Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and software as required.
Plan, assess and implement technical projects. Actions include requirements definition, planning, scheduling, creating bill of materials, estimating, implementation and testing.
Establish and maintain system documentation.
Comply with systems inventory processes.
Adhere to corporate operating procedures.
Initiate and plan preventive maintenance activities.
Conduct performance monitoring and tuning.
Manages data center support maintenance and operational activities.
Manages third party developer software for various teams.
Assists internal customers in all aspects of managing environments. Works as a liaison to ensure security compliance and adherence to acceptable operational parameters.
Documents architectures and procedures for streamlining support and operational processes.
10 years of infrastructure engineering experience.
5 years of hands on experience with managing a multi-tenant environment.
6 years Windows Server and Desktop operating systems in production environments.
2 years networking experience.
2 years of experience with Visio.
Experience with server, desktop, mobile, and printing technologies.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, networking protocols, network devices and firewalls.
Knowledge of data center operations to include rack/stack, cabling, power and cooling.
Experience authoring design documents and operations documents.
Experience developing administrative and management approaches for deployed systems and products.
Deep understanding of system architecture and deployment methodologies.
Associates degree or equivalent experience
Experience with one or more of the following:
VMWare vCenter & vSphere
VMWare vCloud Director
Windows Server Administration
Cisco ASA, Switch & Router configuration
Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, Redhat)
SAN storage arrays (NetApp, EMC)
Public Cloud experience managing Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
VDI (Citrix or VMWare technologies)
Understanding of DoD and or National Agency IA security policies, controls, and documentation
JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket management.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Active Secret clearance
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment
Must be able to lift to shoulder height and move items, like servers, computers, racks, up to and over 25 pounds with varying dimensions.
