Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops new prospects and interacts with existing customers to increase sales of natural gas compression and power generation equipment, parts, and services..
Maintains relationships with existing customers and secures new customers by calling, visiting and performing other duties as may be assigned by management.
Secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements.
Follows-up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers.
Stays engaged following an order from a customer to ensure that internal departments are aware of customer requirements and expectations.
Develops professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, Operations, management, or other key personnel).
Attends weekly sales meeting and submits weekly activity and status reports.
Maintains a monthly sales forecast.
Keeps up with industry activities within sales territory through periodicals, functions, and conferences.
Willingness to travel.
Available 24 / 7 for customer response and activities.
Must adhere to company policies and procedures.
Performs other functions/duties as required with minimal supervision
Required education or minimum level:
High school education (GED)
Technical, Business or equivalent Degree, or at least five years' experience in the energy industry.
Outside sales experience Preferred.
6-9 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Must have computer skills i.e. Microsoft office, and/or required software
Requires detailed knowledge with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field and knowledge of the manufactured product and services while serving as the company representative.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized
Ability to communicate and resolve issues in a professional and tactful manner
Ability to handle problems and facilitate successful outcomes
Mental Power: Ability to determine appropriate courses of action in more complex situations that may be not addressed by existing policies, procedures or protocols. Decisions include such matters as changes in policy and regulations, order in which work is done, and application of established procedures.
Physical Power: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety work boots.
