Consumer Finance Attorney - Digital/Marketing Focus
The candidate will work closely with senior leadership within the digital and marketing teams and provide insightful, pragmatic advice to help these teams be more efficient and effective while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance. Will advise on consumer finance-related regulatory, compliance, and legal issues with a strong focus on consumer marketing and lending practices. Lead role in tracking and advising on all developments related to key legal subjects, including online lending, lead generation, marketing communications, data privacy, TCPA (use of auto-dialer, texting, etc.) and EFTA at both the state and federal levels. Remain current on relevant consumer finance, consumer protection, and data privacy and protection laws and regulations to ensure the ability to provide sound regulatory advice. Communicate and negotiate effectively with external parties (regulators, vendors, etc.). Communicate regularly with, and make formal presentations and proposals to, general counsel and executive management regarding policy and business considerations. Participate in industry working groups. Collaborate closely with outside counsel as directed.
