Core Tax Service Senior Associate

The candidate will be gathering client information necessary for filing, participating in tax planning, recognizing and communicating potential risks, preparing tax accrual workpapers and working with tax software applications to complete tax returns for review. Supervising and reviewing the work of Core Tax Services Associates. Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics; OR Bachelor's degree in other focus area and CPA certification. Masters in Accountancy or Taxation is preferred. Should have 2+ years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience. Industry expertise in one or more tax specialty is preferred. Prior basic supervisory experience is preferred. CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations) is preferred. Should be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software is preferred. Solid verbal and written communication skills are needed. Should be able to follow instructions as directed by members of Tax Team. Should be able to prepare simple tax returns. Should have the ability to effectively delegate work as needed. Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills are required.
