We are hiring a  Digital Engineer I 

on Best Buy's eCommerce Search Team

.  The team creates and maintains a multichannel product search engine and data services ingesting data for the search engine use by Best Buy eCommerce and enterprise systems. The team also works on utilizing customer engagement to optimize the results in the search engine to ensure we are returning the best products for the customer. Cross-functional team members contribute to all aspects of software development and delivery.

About the Team:

We are a collaborative development team that uses Java and Spring along with many cutting-edge technologies to ensure we are able to perform at scale. We are highly collaborative and are committed to agility, code simplicity, and consistent high quality.

Basic Requirements:

2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

3 years professional experience in a JVM based language (Java, Groovy, Scala, Kotlin, Clojure, etc.)

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Service development experience (REST, HTTP, JSON)

Experience working with Spring Framework

Experience working with Relational Databases and JPA

Experience working with Search Engines (Apache Solr)

Experience working with NoSQL data stores (Cassandra, Cloud Bigtable, Redis, etc.)

Experience working with Messaging Middleware (RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, Kafka, Cloud Pub/Sub)

Experience working with Data Streaming frameworks (Apache Beam, Akka Streams)

Experience working with React

Experience working with Machine Learning Algorithms or Neural Networks.

Experience working with NodeJS

Experience working with Docker

Experience working with Linux

Experience working with open source software
