As the Chief of Party for an anticipated USAID-funded water activity in Tanzania, you will have the chance to lead all technical aspects of the potential program along with financial, procurement, personnel and reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient performance for all aspects of the task order and ensuring systems are established and maintained, and adequate resources are applied and managed so that all task order requirements for cost control, quality standards, and schedule are met. During your time with us, you will coordinate closely with USAID in developing, implementing, and revising the project's overall strategy as the principal link between USAID, CH2M is now Jacobs, and other partners. Working with other members of our team, you will provide comprehensive expert technical and administrative direction and guidance in all aspects of the program; provide and support all technical experts; and report to USAID's technical and task order personnel. The minimum qualifications for this position are:• A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or architecture OR construction management or other relevant degree with commensurate professional experience• 20 years of professional experience with at least 10 years of experience as a senior project manager for an organization• 5 years of experience managing A-E design projects and/or providing construction management services in Tanzania or in a similar developing country context• Have previous experience managing U.S Government contracts• 2 years of experience as a senior project manager with CH2M is now Jacobs• Professional expertise and familiarity with water and wastewater projects as well as workplace safety and construction quality assurance• Fluency in written and spoken English• Ability to frequently travel to remote areas
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Master’s degree• Demonstrated high level organizational, communication, leadership, problem solving, and time management skills• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating with local and international contractors• Experience working with USAID• Experience working in Tanzania
