Recreation Management Specialist, GS 09-11

Duties: The candidate will be responsible for planning, programming, and executing work plans and projects for wilderness, recreation, trails, special uses, and other related programs. Will oversee the unit's wilderness, recreation, trails, special uses, and other related programs budget and coordinates with other staff groups. Determine the effects of proposed recreation activities on natural resources and prepares environmental assessments and report to document findings. Provide expert advice in the administration of wilderness, recreation, trails, special uses programs and management activities. Review and monitor recreation, wilderness and related land management activities and recommends ways to achieve goals/objectives. Review complex permit applications and background data to prepare and issue permits, fact sheets, and public notices. Prepares and administers special use permits, prepares and track bills for collection, and performs evaluations. Communicate program information to the public regarding agency, management practices, rules, and regulations relating to wilderness, trails, specials uses, recreation and related programs. Perform supervisory duties.
