Description
Come join the Data Governance office as Lead, Enterprise Data Governance! In this role you can help grow and implement the company's data use and external data strategies. Through applying seasoned knowledge, you would deliver transparency around the principles of data use and sharing, as well as, working to ensure that external data is appropriately cared for across the enterprise. The Lead, Enterprise Data Governance will work on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial with high visibility throughout the enterprise.
Responsibilities
The Lead, Enterprise Data Governance oversees two significant operations: the use and sharing of data and the import of external data. For both of those operations, this position is responsible for understanding regulatory and contractual obligations related to the usage of data, risk associated with the use and sharing of data - whether created internally or externally, and any systematic constraints that must be applied to ensure data is used responsibly.
This position collaborates with other departments to ensure there is an understanding of the requirements to use and share data, to increase transparency around what data is available for use across the enterprise, and facilitate appropriate access to that data. This position contributes to development of data governance policies and maintains documentation on data use and sharing and external data, including the compilation of reports on metrics and conducting benchmarking to identify trends and patterns.
The Lead, Enterprise Data Governance advises executives on the risks related to data use and sharing, as well as, the selection and usage of external data, exercises independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision. The use of independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors to determine the best course of action is critical to the success of this position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
8 or more years of data-related experience
2 or more years of project leadership experience
Experience with data governance
Experience taking complex data and making it more accessible, understandable and usable for leaders to derive insights
Experience with reporting and creating metrics for management
Ensures quality of data in key systems, as well as, development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity
Ability to review contracts for external data use to determine restrictions related to use and access
Ability to review and validate external data metadata and specifications
Ability to conduct market research on external data that would be beneficial to the enterprise
Demonstrated ability to run large scale, highly visible programs with responsibility for multiple project teams
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision. Consults with leadership on final implementation of solutions.
