Lourdes, part of Ascension in Binghamton, NY has an opportunity for a full-time Phlebotomist to join our team working 11:30 am to 8:00 pm with rotating weekends. In this role you will explain the procedure to your patients and perform blood draws in a kind and compassionate manner and learn administrative aspects of the position as well. $3,000 Sign-On Bonus Available for New Associates
Work Schedule: 11:30 am - 8:00 pm with rotating weekends and Holidays.
What You Will Do
Collect and process blood specimens for testing and performs multiple clerical and processing functions.
May draw and collect blood samples according to policy. Receive, centrifuge, accession, process and transport specimens. Verifies all related records.
Work pending lists, orders add-on tests, and resolves duplicate orders.
Sets up instrument. Maintain, cleans, and sterilizes equipment and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
Perform clerical duties which may include answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data for patient registration, ordering tests, ABNs, data entry and filing
What You Will Need
High school diploma or GED required.
Phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
