The purpose of this position is to support management of day to day activities including staff performance, training, carriers, and projects. The incumbent needs to identify strategic threats and opportunities arising from operating issues. The incumbent will initiate appropriate action to maintain compliance, identifying and applying emerging strategies that will strengthen the company's competitive position. The incumbent works with operations, accounting, procurement, order management, customer service, sales, exports, Customs compliance and marketing to drive lower operational and freight costs, maximizing delivery performance by establishing appropriate internal and customer freight patterns.
Job Function and Responsibilities
*Oversee staff training and develop a backup trainer (train the trainer) *Support management to ensure the right tools and systems access are in place and are adequate to the level of work and experience to each individual team member *Support management to ensure the staff's work distribution is appropriate *Oversee working hours and attendance, including vacation and time off (backups) *Day to day performance through reporting *Provides input to manager on performance mid-year and end-year reviews *Ensure that his/her replacement/backup is trained *Support management to ensure all staff is trained in one or more activities and all backups are ready to work in case of someone is on vacation/sick *Supervise staff day to day productivity *Assist management in oversee carrier testing, evaluation, performance and testing *Act as a backup for the overall team *Maintain day to day load building responsibilities for his/her primary plants *First escalation point for day to day related issues
*Knowledge of 3PLs, Contract negotiation, ocean, air, trucking, intermodal and rail modes of transportation *Domestic and international regulation and documentation, US Customs regulation *JDE, SAP, TMS and other ERP and TMS systems *5-10 years working experience in domestic transportation/distribution preferably in the high and heavy machinery/equipment industry *Strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills required. *Experience delivering exceptional customer service, operations management in a supply chain driven organization *Import and export documentation and coordination a plus
Education and Experience
*Bachelor's degree preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or IT with a minimum of 7-10 relevant industry experience

Nature and Scope
*This responsibility will impact the overall organization's revenue on a daily basis. Revenue recognition will depend solely on Logistics capability to manage shipments timely and accurately to meet AGCO's deadlines. *This position will impact external and internal customers such as manufacturing sites, Order Management, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing and Demand Planning.
*Under the supervision of the Manager, NA Logistics, the incumbent will guide, train, and support staff on a daily basis, including but not only meeting our overall goal. The authority level of this position is to support management on a day to day operations basis including information to develop budgets, metrics, KPIs for staff and suppliers.
