Litigation Coordinator - 2nd shift
The candidate will facilitate and monitor all work associated with assigned projects to ensure record collection efforts, case coordination efforts and work product creation meet client needs from a timeliness and quality standpoint. Act as liaison between clients and LMI to facilitate case. Prepare work product; generate regularly scheduled client reports, status updates, and ad hoc reporting as required by project parameters or upon client request. Ensure delivery of quality and accurate status information and other client requested information by ongoing and complete review and analysis of quality data and reports regarding record collection efforts, authorization status, etc. Review, categorize and process legal documents and maintain updated information in LMI systems and designated databases. Monitor and support client case management activity to alert Litigation Manager and escalate issues as needed. Ensure compliance with legal standards with authorization assignment and requesting of records. Assist with IT testing of software and hardware as needed; submit requests for new or enhanced software functionality, or to correct issues (fix bugs) with existing functionality using IT’s JIRA system. Manage case coordination, record collection, and other work product efforts including: consistent and ongoing client communications, performing record collection, securing appropriate authorizations, reviewing cases for completeness and quality, resolving questions and issues that arise on case(s), monitor litigation deadlines and trial dates in accordance with project parameters for litigations/special projects where case counts are low (typically 1-2 subjects) or as determined by the Vice President of Project Management. Effectively collaborate with Litigation Managers to identify opportunities for increased efficiencies and/or new service opportunities. Monitor record collection from providers and communicate issues to Litigation Manager proactively. Communicate with client to gather information, respond to inquiries, resolve issues, provide status reports, etc.; participate in client conference calls and/or meetings as necessary. Compile and report all timekeeping activities accurately and promptly. Adhere to productivity and quality standards developed for this position. Use critical thinking and good decision making to determine when record collection efforts are not yielding desired results within project parameters. Maintain and promote regular, open, direct communications with vendors including, record acquisition and copy services. Contribute to the profitability of the company through efficient productivity and assuming ownership for quality of product(s). Expand, on a continual basis, job related and technical knowledge to improve individual performance as well as overall performance of the company. Support orientation, training, and mentoring of new and existing LMI staff as required. Maintain confidentiality regarding LMI business, clients, patients, and personnel. Adhere to all LMI policies and procedures. Should have 2-4 year degree or 3-4 years relevant experience or a combination thereof. Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Must have experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and deadlines. Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have working knowledge of electronic communications and internet. Should have working knowledge of business equipment, (i.e. fax, copier, etc.). Paralegal certification, JD or equivalent legal experience a plus. A masters or advanced degree in business, healthcare, legal/paralegal, criminology, or related field desired. Medical terminology or knowledge a plus. Quality assurance/quality improvement work experience preferred. Ability to identify components of a legal and medical record a plus.
