Messaging Engineer (Devops)

You will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle in an Agile/Lean environment. Our globally distributed service processes hundreds of millions of records per day, and must be architected to handle many times this amount. It is equally critical that our platform provide highly available, highly reliable processing of data in near-real time. The successful candidate will work in a highly collaborative manner.

Responsibilities:

Lead implementation, deployment and support of high-performance, resilient messaging solutions in a Cloud environment.

Build a monitoring framework that supports 24/7 Global Operations.

Contribute to the team’s collaboration and project management practices (e.g. scrums, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.)

Promote standardization and automated processes to foster Continuous Delivery.

Conduct root cause analysis of software and system defects.

Highly collaborative team player interested in working on a high-performing team.

Proficiency:

Proficient deploying and administering messaging and data transfer tools . (preferred: rabbitmq, qpid, scribe, aspera, etc.)

Experience implementing and configuring monitoring and alerting tools (nagios, graphite, keynote, etc.)

Expert in system administration (Linux environments from Dev to Prod.)

Troubleshooting system performance problems.

Distributed Java application development.

Agile development (Scrum, XP, etc.)
