Associate Tax Technology Analyst

Profile

POSITION SUMMARY  Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of all tax systems and engines to ensure AutoZone is meeting legal mandates and statutory regulations. This includes assisting with systems configuration and setup and implementing updates timely and accurately. In this role, the individual will manage the taxability review of products and services, including all taxes, fees, and surcharges, sold and purchased through all AutoZone sales and purchase channels. The position will work cross-functionally with Indirect Tax, Income Tax, Property Tax and Fixed Assets as well as partner with IT and other functional groups within AutoZone. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ·       Perform mapping of tax codes to ensure items are taxed properly for sales/purchase channels, including fees ·       Assist in maintaining domestic and international tax platforms, including updating and monitoring configuration and system updates ·       Assist in maintaining system configurations related to tax holidays ·       Communicate monthly system changes to Tax and business as needed ·       Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate findings to management ·       Test and validate tax systems and process key controls in accordance with SOX requirements ·       Assist in implementation of tax systems ·       Monitor tax platform system access ·       Investigate and respond to the Tax team and business on taxability questions ·       Cross-functionally collaborate with internal groups to advance tax efforts, including tax planning, tax compliance, tax audit, finance, and IT   REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration ·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) ·       High level of ethics, integrity, judgment, discretion, and confidentiality ·       Strong customer service orientation ·       Self-motivated, organized, and proactive; flexible, and adaptable. ·       Communicates to inform, share, improve, and maintain open dialogue. Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter    Ability to learn development activities and procedures quickly and continue to gain industry knowledge or technical experience   ·       Basic knowledge of tax principles ·       Experience in accounting and sales/use tax within a retail organization. ·       Experience with PeopleSoft, Oracle, and/or SAP, Alteryx, Microsoft Excel, Word, and tax software such as ONESOURCE, Sabrix, Vertex, and LicenseHQ One or more years of experience with demonstrated progression of responsibilities in a combination of Tax and Information Technology roles, preferably within a corporate tax environment or a combination of experience within a corporate tax environment and a public accounting or consulting firm, or other relevant experience   #LI-CT #LI-HYBRID,qualifications:UNAVAILABLE,responsibilities:UNAVAILABLE
