What We’re Looking For:
The Placement Manager is responsible for the overall success of the placement function for a program. Depending on the maturity of the program, the Placement Manager will work with internal stakeholders and the university partner to launch the placement component of a program, build a network of sites for existing or future program students, and manage a team of Placement Specialists to maintain a successful placement experience for each student. The Placement Manager will work cohesively with other departments including Student Success, Admissions, and Academic Advising and is a critical player in executing 2U’s white-glove level of service.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Manage a team of Placement Specialists to meet and exceed KPI goals, including on-time placement, Net Promoter Scores, Placement Quality Review Tool scores, velocity, repeat site use and other metrics and quality measures
Develop/execute strategies for site development and hold Placement Specialists accountable for site development in their designated regions. Provide appropriate performance management and development to team to ensure on-time placement
Develop/execute strategies for placement opportunities for specific students and “one-off” placement requirements
Develop/execute placement policies and best practices to ensure efficiency and standardization of process across the larger placement team
Develop/execute processes within placement team to ensure success with quality, on-time placement, and satisfaction while reducing costs
Manage team budget
Should staffing levels require it, maintain a caseload of student placements
Work with counterparts at the university on vetting sites and coordinating site visits when appropriate
Act as liaison between faculty and Placement Specialists on placement approvals and student escalations; provide support to Placement Specialists on student escalations
Work with stakeholders at the university and the 2U contracts team to execute partner agreements and student clearances
Assist in all aspects of the recruiting and training of Placement Specialists
Use data to drive decision-making and team management
Communicate with University partners, internal stakeholders, students and program management on placement progress and challenges
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
Bachelor’s degree required and 5 years of related experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated account management skills and ability to work effectively with new or existing university partners
Demonstrated experience managing people and process from start to finish

Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to develop quick rapport with stakeholders

In Colorado, the anticipated base salary for this role is $60,000. Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.
