Our Auburn Hills, MI location is seeking Account Manager - Asian OEMs in North America to join our team.

THE POSITION

• Interact with global Continental Toyota community with focus on balance of internal requirements vs. customer requirements

• Drive all tasks and activities related to Order Intake, Acquisition and Quote Process

• Manage the region sales planning, reimbursement and ensures that claims of strategic importance are considering broader prospective and influences on all business aspects.

• Prepares the regional strategy in alignment with the Customer Center/Segment and BU product strategies.

• Ensure a commercial competitiveness to secure profitable growth. In addition, he/she contributes to the relevant product strategies with focus on product portfolio, road maps, markets and competitors.

• Responsible for enhancing the customer relationship. He/she actively manages and analyses stakeholder expectations, inform and involve stakeholders on a regular basis and in an appropriate manner.

• Drive operation continuous improvement activities (Quality, OEE, lessons learned)

• Window person for supply issues with customer purchasing (consolidate and explain run down charts)

• Directly reporting to Head of CC JOEM

• Potential to grow and lead a team in US linked to business expansion

ACQUISITION:

• Full responsibility for business acquisition including building up of strategy

• Full coordination of commercial part of quotations:

• Conduct quote / no quote meeting where required

• Kick off acquisition with international sales team and multiple customer interfaces

• Ensure internal alignment with BD colleagues and KAM organization across international locations

• Clarify all internal requirements regarding quote conditions prior to review of quote (e.g. given currencies and currency clauses, delivery terms, payment terms, volume fluctuations)

• Take lead to review with international, multi-location project acquisition team all assumptions and commitments stipulated in technical part of quote and identify and correct any potential commercial risks to the quote

• Conduct PCIS review with project manager and controlling; take leader role and double check all assumptions taken and actively look for areas of improvement

• Prepare quotation letter, pricing table, a list of all enclosures submitted together with the quote and stipulate all commercial assumptions

• Be aware of open book policy and submit breakdowns only to a level that has been discusses with business controlling and segment management prior to quote submission

• Prepare cost breakdown of quote in strong alignment with controlling

• Defend Conti interests to customer while at the same time raising road blocks from customer for internal discussion prior to quote

• Conduct internal project objective review

• Ensure timely delivery of reviewed and approved quote to customer

RUNNING BUSINESS AND BUSINESS UNDER DEVELOPMENT:

• Lead sales planning related tasks (SPOT, CDP, etc.)

• Contribute to internal surveys and data collection such as MDCA

• Handling of all commercial issues in running and developing projects such as change management, collection of accounts receivable, preparation of documents for piece price, RnD costs, tooling costs, sample costs, volume shortfalls etc.

• Set baseline of initial commercial quote assumptions and align with the global team

• With last valid and agreed quote as a basis, establish organized change management structure jointly with project manager

• Attend / monitor progress of internal project meeting and take advisory role for pushing timely change management anticipating commercially relevant hurdles

• Establishing and maintaining standardized cost structures in projects with the same customer, alignment with other locations within same BU with similar business with the customer

• Maintain clear and transparent structure of all commercial items communicated to the customer

• Lead / guide project team and project manager commercially, to prepare all documentation in a commercially mind-set fashion

• Lead customer negotiations

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Work in Michigan, Auburn Hills

• Ability to travel locally, nationally and internationally when required

• Master's degree majored in engineering or business administration

• Experience working with JOEM (>5 years)

• Experience working in Automotive Industry (>5 years)

• Strong communication skill in English

• International team player

• Advanced MS Office skills

• Ability of maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with Toyota

• Knowledge of Toyota Business Practice (TBP), Toyota production system (TPS)

• Strong communication skills in Japanese, other languages a plus.

• Good understanding of customer's RFQ / sourcing and decision making process

• Several years’ experience in internationally operating company in sales, business development, project management functions or similar

• Experience leading a team

• Experience in Project Management
