SEO & Inbound Marketing Manager - Society 6

Society6 is a commerce platform that enables thousands of artists from around the world to easily upload and immediately offer their art for sale as art prints, iPhone cases, home decor, t-shirts and a variety of other high quality products - without giving up the rights to their work. Society6 produces these products on-demand, using only the highest quality materials and processes and then delivers them to consumers worldwide on behalf of the artist.

The SEO Manager will assist in both the strategic development and growth of Society6. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, entrepreneurial team player with a passion for growing an online community. As a member of the Society6 team, the SEO & Inbound Marketing Manager will manage all aspects of E-commerce SEO efforts.
The SEO Manager will be an analytical thinker who is curious about the why, as much as the how.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of E-Commerce SEO efforts for Society6.com
Conduct ongoing E-Commerce SEO assessments and implement SEO best practices with a focus on long term strategies
Consult product managers on SEO & UX “best practices” to guide product plans including site redesigns, product enhancements, and new features
Create requirements and documentation that clearly state the core functionality and goals of the product
Demonstrate good intuition with consumer search behavior and have the desire to expand his or her knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms and ranking factors to improve the user’s experience.
Work with Development and QA teams to ensure technical SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code
Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming
Optimize E-commerce and media websites for traditional search as well as for universal search, mobile search, video search, image search, international search and more
Optimize the SEO Culture at Demand Media through steady communication of SEO best practices at all levels of the organization.
Stay on top of current search engine news, trends, SEO practices, and emerging items of interest
Ongoing keyword research, analysis, recommendations and execution
Survey marketplace for similar approaches and SEO tactics and evaluate how Demand Media might do things better / differently or leverage successful techniques where they exist
Requirements:
2 years SEO experience
Experience working with E-commerce businesses
Power user of one or more of the major web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc…)
Experience with major social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Google , Pinterest, etc…)
Good understanding of source code (HTML, CSS)
strong understanding of E-commerce web technologies and a passion for search engine optimization, content marketing, and social media.
Plus
Coding and development experience in PHP, Python, MySQL or other open source languages
Online PR and/or Link-building experience
