is searching for a Government Affairs Standards and Certification Associate for its founding client the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA)

. The Government Affairs, Standards & Certification Associate will support JPMA's regulatory and product safety initiatives and programming, including daily management of the certification program and its participants, JPMA's involvement in the ASTM standard development process (including task group management and roster maintenance, document preparation, meeting scheduling and attendance and reporting to membership and senior leadership), and regulatory and legislative activities, including weekly strategy meetings, issues research and contributions to industry statements, public comments, and letters. The position will report to JPMA's Government Affairs Manager and be based in the Arlington, VA office. Interfacing with agency and/or congressional staff offices may be required. Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program/Project Accountabilities:

ASTM - Administrative Support

Serve as primary point of contact for subcommittee chairs and task group leaders

Create schedule for quarterly meetings, prepare agenda packets, attend meetings, draft and distribute minutes

Roster Maintenance

Task Group Rosters

Schedule ASTM task group calls at direction of task group leaders, distribute advance documents, host and attend all calls

Subcommittee Meetings Support (agenda creation, co-chair, attendance, draft minutes)

Write recap reports

Update ASTM Standards Activity Chart

Request and Distribute Incident Data from CPSC staff

Certification Program:

Support participant process / primary POC, including applications and all inquiries; customer support and services

Renewals annually, including collections

Program related documentation updates (procedural guide, protocols, TRF), including updates, approvals and communications

Schedule, attend and draft advance and post documentation for monthly lab meetings

Certification Committee Support (scheduling, agenda creation, attendance, minutes, space/catering for in-person meetings)

Manage certification program in YM

Certification Program scorecard updates

Regulatory/Legislative Affairs:

Attend weekly meetings

Proactive/Reactive issue-based member communications

As directed, attend meetings with coalition partners, agencies and congressional offices

JPMA Summit:

Support content creation and speaker management

As directed, support meeting logistics including web updates, registration management, material submission/creation, sponsorship deliverables, etc.

Attendance

Other:

Offer certification support to Baby Safety Month and other regular programs

Assist in development of Strategy 1 educational offerings

Provide support to JPMA Senior Management Team I Strategy Leads, as assigned

Participate in regular departmental and staff meetings

Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma required.
