Assistant Public Defender
Candidate will assist the Public Defender in the administration of the department by planning and supervising assigned functions and participating in the preparation and defense of a variety of criminal and some civil matters. Assists with the administration of department budgets, functions and activities, while helping to ensure their compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as the policies established by the Public Defender, County Administrator and Board of Supervisors. Oversee the implementation of the Strategic Priorities established by the Board of Supervisors that all departments establish homelessness as an operational priority, and to ensure fiscal responsibility, promote good governance, improve public safety, promote economic development, and to proactively deal with water issues. Hold staff accountable in meeting department mission and goals. Establish collaborative working relationships with the community, other County departments and outside stakeholders.
