Senior Legal Counsel, Oil and Gas Trading
The candidate will provide legal support for the full scope of operations and activities of the oil and gas trading businesses, which include LNG. Draft, review and negotiate master trading documentation of various types (e.g. ISDA, EEI, NAESB), bespoke trading agreements, margining agreements, and security documents with counterparties. Develop, draft and negotiate structured gas transactions, including asset management agreements, auction and RFP responses, and gas supply, storage, and transportation agreements. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including those relating to commodities trading, and monitor current developments and emerging issues impacting businesses. Interact with regulatory agencies, such as CFTC and FERC, as required. Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and proactively make recommendations to protect the Company's interests. Diligently manage pending claims and litigation and supervise outside counsel. Monitor and oversee outside counsel fees and expenses and work product to maintain cost-effective and quality external support. Interface on relevant legal matters with colleagues in the United States and abroad. Work effectively on culturally diverse teams to achieve business goals and objectives.
