Aon is looking for an Associate Director with our Reinsurance Solutions GroupAs part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Aon Reinsurance Solutions business group. The position is based in the U.S. but preferred office location is Chicago, IL. This position offers a hybrid workstyle (1-3 days in office) with a fully virtual option for highly qualified candidates. Your impact as an Associate DirectorAs an Associate Director, your primary role will be to support clients as requested by supervisor or brokers, across virtually any client project or internal research assignment with a focus on P&C risk modeling. Associate Directors are expected to be a master in completing standard actuarial analyses, while also participating in more advanced analyses that support revenue growth. You will become familiar with Aon’s tools and approach and present Aon’s solutions and services to our clients. You will be responsible for producing and presenting high-quality actuarial analyses with keen attention to detail with the goal of helping clients make strategic reinsurance buying decisions, while also building relationships internally and externally. You should have an aptitude for problem solving, be able to manage multiple project deadlines at once, and be able to effectively communicate the results of your analyses to clients and brokers. Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnalyze the costs and benefits of risk transferred under reinsurance agreements with minimal guidance on small to medium sized accountsUnderstand reinsurance contracts and products (terminology, terms and conditions)Develop bespoke analyses, visualizations, and dashboards to explain analytics to actuaries, account specialists, and clientsTake ownership and responsibility for quality, accuracy, and timely completion of analysisWork with colleagues (brokers, analytics and others) to identify and respond to client needsTake initiative on internal projects to improve processes, products, or servicesManage workflow proactively and be able to complete a project from start to finish with minimal input from lead consultantAbility to outline tasks of a project, delegate to junior staff, and complete projects on timeAssist lead actuary in preparing and communicating analysis results to brokers and clientsTakes an active role in technically reviewing junior staff work product and providing constructive feedback and coaching Required Skills and Qualifications5 years of experience in an analytically centric environment, Property & Casualty field preferredACAS preferred/actively pursuing or an advanced degree in a related fieldProficiency in a programming language, e.g., R / Python / C / JavaExtensive knowledge of MS Office suite of productsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to identify and resolve problems, think creatively, strategically, and analyticallyStrong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)Strong ability to understand and perform mathematical and statistical calculationsDynamic Financial Analysis or Economic Capital Modeling experience are a plusReinsurance and/or consulting experience preferred Minimum EducationBachelor’s degree (BA/BS)About Aon Reinsurance:Aon Reinsurance Analytics is the technical consulting arm of Aon Reinsurance, the world's largest reinsurance intermediary.
