A reputable law firm in Milwaukee is seeking a skilled Health Law Associate Attorney specializing in Data Privacy and Security. The firm is looking for a candidate with a solid background in health law, data privacy regulations, and security protocols. The role involves advising clients on complex legal matters related to healthcare data management, privacy laws, and incident response.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel on compliance with federal and state privacy laws within the healthcare sector.
• Advise clients on best practices for data protection, security measures, and managing sensitive information.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts related to data privacy and security.
• Develop and maintain data maps and assist in understanding data flows.
• Offer strategic guidance on incident response to data breaches or security threats.
• Collaborate effectively with legal teams, internal stakeholders, and clients, including non-lawyers, to address legal issues in health law and technology.

Requirements:

• Approximately 5 years of relevant legal experience in health law with a focus on data privacy and security.
• Expertise in state and federal privacy laws and regulatory compliance, specifically in healthcare.
• Hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating contracts.
• Knowledge of data protection, security protocols, and incident response strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with both legal and non-legal professionals.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to the State Bar in good standing.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of data privacy laws and health care regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
