Director, Equity and Partnership Programs
The candidate understands the firm’s strategy, along with specific business issues and opportunities, and creates and articulates a plan of action aligned with that strategy. Ensures efficient, effective, and consistently high-quality results in all aspects of the Firm’s Equity compensation processing and reporting. Partner with Firm Leadership to ensure that our compensation system for our Partners is equitable and elements are consistent with peer firms. Supports the Investment Fund program in close partnership with the investment committee and the Partner/Of Counsel managing the investment funds. Maintains focus and holds themselves and other individuals in the organization accountable for executing against plan and achieving challenging business results. Owns the maintenance and control of the Profit distribution schedules, continually ensuring that the schedules are current and accurate. Assumes the lead role in managing the yearend schedule by partnering with the Chief, Talent Officer to prepare supporting schedules used in the allocation process. Collaborates with the Director of Tax to effectively implement international tax regimes and ensures timely communication with the Partners. Partners with the Director, of Financial Systems to design, develop and implement methods and strategies to continually improve processes. Works closely with the Director, of Financial Planning and Analysis to prepare schedules for the firm’s annual budget and to ensure that all reporting to the Allocations committee is accurately reflected in the dashboards with key metrics to guide their decisions. Knows what we do as a firm; understands key growth areas and challenges and what we offer. Has depth of knowledge across all departments in the professional staff and transcends silos. Partners with the other finance leaders to ensure that we deliver integrated high-quality information to our internal and external clients. Provides actionable insights to senior leadership, makes recommendations and helps support ‘optimal’ business decision-making. Demonstrates a commitment to excellence across all areas of responsibility, including client service, team leadership, and functional deliverables. Shows confidence in expressing a point of view and in taking a stand; raising and addressing challenging issues with respectful candor. Builds Networks: Effectively communicates across the firm, fostering alignment, collaboration, and cross-functional results. Recognized by BU Leadership and Executive Leadership as a strategic business partner. Assists with the planning and implementation of firm-wide strategic initiatives. Works closely with the Chief Talent Officer in consistently providing accurate schedules for the Allocation committee. Partners with the Allocations Committee to provide data that helps support their decision process, including a review of past practices to suggest and implement improvements. Prioritizes the development, training, and appropriate delegation of new activities to team members. Develops strong management capability among current and future leaders on the team. Actively looks to promote team members and provide opportunities for stretch assignments and exposure. Leads the Partner compensation team and interacts very closely with the Tax team; makes decisions on staffing and performance management. Leads the Partner Investment fund team to ensure communication to the underlying funds and Partners is effective and timely and also looks for improvements. Provides training, feedback, and coaching to team members, and delegates to work appropriately. Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration. CPA designation or MBA is desirable. Should have 10+ years of related financial management experience preferably in a professional services organization; excellent interpersonal and team-building skills with the ability to establish rapport and effectively work with colleagues of all levels; demonstrated ability to proactively and professionally manage internal client relationships with emphasis on producing results in a client-focused/service-orientated manner. Superior written and verbal communication skills; the ability to interact diplomatically with partners, senior management, peers, and professional staff; communicating with impact to clearly convey context and insight, so as to effectively manage upward to influence decisions. Outstanding organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to maintain and produce high-quality work products with minimal oversight; ability to apply an effective strategy to business considerations weighing firm/department goals with an eye toward the big picture and the firm-wide impact; experience with International operations; ability to effectively manage intra-departmental and potentially firm-wide projects by being budget conscientious. Technical spreadsheet (MS Excel) expertise and proficiency in PowerPoint as well as the other MS Office suite.
