This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with an experienced legal team, manage a diverse caseload, and engage with clients to develop and execute effective immigration strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in immigration law, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.

Duties

  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload and conduct legal research to provide innovative solutions for clients.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Conduct intake interviews and provide legal analysis to identify potential case benefits.
  • Visit detention centers to meet with detained clients.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for immigration cases.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to stay updated on immigration law changes.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and testimony.
  • Provide consultation to potential clients and develop tailored legal strategies.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Proficiency in managing a caseload and moving cases forward effectively.
  • Knowledge of Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Familiarity with case management software (preferred).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.

Certifications

  • Admittance to the Texas State Bar is required.
