Public Interest Law Clerkship
The Clerk will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of case and law firm management. This includes having significant responsibility over ongoing cases, assisting in research and writing assignments, trial preparation, pretrial discovery and work normally assigned to associate attorneys and/or paralegals. In addition, Law Clerks often assist with key public policy assignments that are part of the firm’s pro bono programs designed to expand the scope of whistleblower protections. Law Clerks are also asked to assist with the firm’s on-line programming, including assisting in the websites and blogs operated by the firm. The Law Clerk position is a one-year full-time paid position, specifically designed for students who are graduating from college and thinking about a career in law. The clerkship can be used as potential employment for a “gap year” between college and enrollment in a graduate program or law school.
