Communications and PR Coordinator

The candidate will advance external and internal communications initiatives related to the firm and its people, clients, and culture. Report to the Communications and PR Manager, the Communications and PR Coordinator prepares materials to boost the visibility of the firm and its lawyers with the media and in other public forums. Identify story ideas, develop media lists, arranging interviews, coaching interviewees, and monitoring media coverage. Develop and edit content for distribution across the firm’s social media and other digital platforms and for distribution in various channels inside the firm, including creating content for the firm’s public website and intranet. Interface with lawyers and other business staff members on various projects. Assist with media monitoring process and produce daily media reports. Assist with drafting copy for the firm’s external submissions for legal directories, nominations, and surveys, working with lawyers and practice groups to draft and submit nominations. Partner closely with key stakeholders to understand their communications needs and work closely with them on content and development. Develop and maintain relationships with key legal, business, and industry trade media. Draft, manage and curate content for distribution across the firm’s website and social media channels, with the goal of driving engagement and raising brand awareness among key constituents through tailored campaigns that align with the firm’s strategy. Track social media analytics and use these to develop and drive the firm's social media strategy, ensuring it aligns with the firm's strategy. Identify opportunities for creative campaigns across various social platforms, and maintain content calendar of this and other content planned for social media. Collaborate with internal departments, including Diversity & Inclusion, Pro Bono, Professional Development, Recruiting, Alumni, and Human Resources to develop a strategy and content calendar for internal and external digital communications. Help draft talking points for media interviews and firm-related events. Serve as coordinator and enforcer of the firm’s style guide. General communications team assistance, including project overflow. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. Should have 3+ years of experience.
