Administrative Hearing Officer
Duties: Conduct administrative hearings in discipline cases in order to elicit facts and determine whether discipline and/or dismissal is appropriate under Board policies, guidelines, rules and practices and other relevant considerations; draft memoranda with case summaries, analysis, and recommended disposition of grievance or disciplinary matter. Conduct grievance meetings with labor organization representatives at the pre-arbitration step of the grievance procedure as the Chief Executive Officer’s representative; issue grievance dispositions consistent with collective bargaining agreements, Board policies, guidelines, rules and practices and other relevant criteria and considerations. Manage periodic audits of employee compliance with the Board’s policies. Research generated inquiries and prepare written responses to them Counsel school principals, administrators and employees regarding disciplinary policies and procedures, compliance with collective bargaining agreements and Board policies, rules, and regulations. Develop and deliver training to principals and administrators on grievances and discipline. Participate in discipline mediation/arbitration. Handle special projects and other related duties as assigned.
