Data Warehouse SQL Developer

Profile

Our client, based in DFW area is an integral part of the business community! This company is seeking a SQL Developer (PL/SQL preferred) to perform the analysis, create the design, program, and implement an Enterprise Data Warehouse solution. . The candidate will be responsible for programming complex Extraction, Transformation, and Load (ETL) processes from defined business requirements and technical specifications!
Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills and work well with the technical and business communities to understand and deliver projects that increase the value of the Client's assets. This person must be a self-starter in initiating project and process improvements and may take part in researching best practices, new tools and technology, and implementing automated test processes across the data warehouse.
This ETL – SQL Developer should: - be able to design and develop rock-solid ETL – SQL code and programs; - reverse engineered databases to identify source data elements for extraction; - be comfortable or willing to review back-end processes written in Oracle and legacy source systems; - be able to develop and supported cross-platform (Windows/Unix) automated code to extract, filter and pre-process the source data; - Automate the extraction and filtering of these data sources to prepare it for loading to the warehouse. - be able to develop and support loading routines within a Business Intelligence Tool to populate EDW star schema data warehouse. - Defined, developed and supported testing methodology for ETL work product. - have expertise in regularly communicated effectively with senior management;
Minimum Skills: * 7 years of Information Technology background; * 5 years Demonstration as a SQL developer; * 3 years as part of an Enterprise Data Warehouse project building and implementing Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing methodologies, concepts, and implementations; * Strong background in structured systems and data analysis; * Demonstrated ability with JAD and RAD methodologies; * Knowledgeable in relational database design (normalized and dimensional); *Proficient with MS Office suite
Desired: - Experience driving business requirements from a manufacturing industry. - Excellent Business Intelligence experience for large-scale applications; - Experience creating and customizing complex business intelligence solutions based on data warehouse environments - Familiarity with other Business Intelligence tools (Business Objects, Cognos, SAS, etc.) a plus!
Educational Skills - BS or BA required, MBA Preferred
