The candidate should preferably have experience working as a legal assistant, paralegal, or case manager performing the following tasks: Discovery (propounding and responding). Must have 1+ year experience propounding and responding to discovery requests, preferably in personal injury cases. Preparing trial binders / exhibit binders. Drafting motions, oppositions and replies. Calendaring. Case management and correspondence with opposing Counsel. Prepare summary of deposition transcripts. Assemble chronologies of pertinent facts and key documents, including medical records. Prepare records, review and prepare exhibits, analyze medical records, trial preparation. Contact outside sources (government agencies, etc.) to obtain public information and review and analyze the same. Search and retrieve information from court-related databases as well as other online sources of case information. Review, analyze and organize document productions by opposing parties and co-defendants. Assist in document productions. Draft subpoenas, notices of deposition and pattern discovery requests. Conduct investigative research on opposing parties and expert witnesses. Manage documents and organize case files. Must have 1-3 years of experience handling personal injury matters or experience working in a litigation department with a firm grasp of the code of civil procedure and a minimum of 1 year experience handling discovery. Should have experience drafting discovery and motions. Experience helping a handling attorney with trial prep.
