The New York Post is seeking a full-time Senior News Reporter

who can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The shift for this role will be Sunday to Thursday, 9am-5pm.

The Senior News Reporter will take the lead on major news stories, no matter the topic, and ensure The Post has the crucial elements covered while working to break our own lines.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

At least five years of experience in a major breaking news operation

A sharp writer who can deliver clean, coherent copy in the Post’s signature style in a fast-paced environment

Experience with writing long-form investigative stories

Experience collaborating with multiple beat reporters to deliver thoroughly reported stories

The ability to spot a potentially viral story from any corner of the globe and quickly turn it into a great read

The ability to pick out a compelling angle to a story not necessarily covered by other publications

Strong news gathering skills and experience with social media platforms in order to quickly confirm information during live news events; think digital first

An understanding of how to navigate court documents and the criminal justice system a major plus

Deep sourcing in a specific area of coverage a plus

Multilingual is a plus

Ability to travel nationally and internationally

Flexibility in working some nights and weekends, when needed

Note

: This position will adhere to a hybrid work model.

Salary Range: $15/hour – $125,000
