Incumbents will be required to provide knowledge transfer documentation and resources to provide a Telecom Network Tech I the tools needed to succeed in becoming pro-efficient in management of all systems. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with multiple levels of clients, technicians, professionals, and management personnel including interaction with clients to research and resolved problems. Monitor and maintain routers, Cell relays, WiMAX Radios, DIGI Security devices, Switches, Multiplexers, Microwave radios, and other SONET network nodes Reading, execution, and creation of comprehensive Engineering drawings and as-built. As well as reading and interpreting manufacturer’s manuals including schematics. Conduct network analysis and troubleshooting to isolate problems or improve network performance using network management tools: CTC, HP NNMi, HP Na,HP Nps, DPS Net Mediators, Alcatel 1353 Network Management, Net smart, Open Way Control, Service Now and other tools as they become available to pro-actively troubleshoot and diagnose performance issues as well as outages Provides support, testing, and troubleshooting to technical client base. Effectively communications problem resolutions to clients, team members, and support groups. Effectively perform scheduling and coordination of work activities, and dispatch field technicians, peers, carriers, and clients to complete installations and to resolve communications failures. Demonstrate of advance networking fundamentals including: OSI model, TCP/IP, and Sub netting. Knowledge of advance Network troubleshooting skills including ARP, ping, trace route. Demonstrate a working knowledge and experience of the following: spanning tree, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP) Provides configuration, troubleshooting of Cisco infrastructure including CISCO 3900 router(s), 6500 switches(s), 3600 switches(s) (OSN 15454(s), and ML-1000 RPR Modules. Provide working knowledge to operational and maintenance support by measuring signal to noise, signal-to-noise ratio, signal distortion, jitter, frequency levels, peak to average ratio, 300 to 3,000 frequency run, E&M signaling, bit error rate, loop back testing, smart jack testing, modem set up features, CSU testing, measuring and adjustment of decibel levels on circuits and microwave radios. Work in an After Hours ON CALL Rotation in sequence with all other members of the Network Control Team Work with external supports groups and clients to troubleshoot and coordinate repair of network issues Provides remote analysis and troubleshooting of fiber optic faults on the networks utilizing Cisco MPLS VPN environment and SONET Technologies. Perform detail analysis of various auto-generated reports such as: the 50 Report, Missed Reads Report, GIS Diagnostic Tool, Tivoli, Syslog Server, RSSI, Report, and others to pro-actively assess the health of the Smart Grid and IG Networks as well as troubleshoot outages Create SAP Notifications for each and every issue worked and complete data input thoroughly Assign Notifications to appropriate support teams such as: Radio Dispatch, Electric Control, as needed Develop and maintain written SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) that specify how various job and work functions are performed Generate daily reports as needed or required','!*!Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a degree, will consider a combination of education and related experience with Network Systems Management totaling four (4) years, where each year of applicable college = 1 year and each year of applicable work experience = 0.5 year. Experience in lieu of education is in addition to the Experience requirements.
