Systems Engineering Co-Op
Systems Engineering Co-Op
Textron Systems Unmanned Systems is seeking a systems engineering student to join the Systems/Test Engineering team as a half time Co-Op. Our Systems Engineers (SYEs) are deployed to all three Unmanned Systems divisions: Tactical Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Control and Surface Systems, and Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary approach focused on defining and meeting the needs of the warfighter via upgrades and/or new product development. The SYE Co-Op will support systems engineering activities throughout the lifecycle of a project and gain exposure to the various engineering facets. This individual will work with teams and products that directly support our service men and women who engage in combat operations around the world.
A SYE Co-Op carries out engineering assignments which have a basic degree of complexity and limited latitude for independent action and decision. A SYE Co-Op performs assignments designed to develop professional engineering work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard methods, tools, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
A SYE Co-Op uses prescribed methods, and may perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. A supervisor screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems and selects techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routine work. A SYE Co-Op may exercise limited judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives, and may provide guidance and direction to technicians and engineering specialists
