POSITION: Facility Maintenance Foreman
POSITION NO: 7.206
DEPT: Public Works
This is responsible work in specialized construction and maintenance activities within the department’s Facility Maintenance Division. Responsibilities include light construction and remodeling/building and facility maintenance; pest control and custodial services; scheduling and supervising subordinate employees; operational and special projects equipment and supplies management; conducting inspections; and generating periodic reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Con Considerable knowledge of the City and department’s rules, regulations and procedures; facilities and equipment operating characteristics and maintenance requirements.
Knowledge of Division’s operational safety standards.
Considerable skill in operating Division’s equipment.
Ability to read working diagrams, sketches, and simple blueprints; maintain records and prepare reports.
Ability to coordinate and supervise subordinate’s work.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
Training, Certification, and Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
Considerable experience in public works-related facility maintenance and construction; two (2) years lead or supervisory experience preferred.
Or, an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements
Valid Florida driver’s license.
Possess (or ability to obtain within thirty days of employment) a Florida Commercial C Driver’s License.
