Senior Full Stack Engineer

Profile

J.Crew's E-Commerce team is seeking a Sr Full Stack  Engineer. The ideal candidate should bring expertise in REACT to help usher projects with leadership qualities, mentoring capacity and desire to support fellow engineers. Knowledge and expertise, tools and willingness to pick up new tools along the way, and a monstrous appetite for experimentation, learning, and innovation are essential to this role.

 

Responsibilities:

*Lead and collaborate with team members in the design, development, deployment, operation, maintenance, and documentation to support ECOMM’s applications and services ensuring on budget, on time, and high quality delivery of projects. *Collaborate with release management and developers in the design and implementation of development and deployment strategies. *Lead and collaborate with team members, developers, and ECOMM leadership troubleshooting problems including large-scale production issues.  *Lead and collaborate with team members, developers, and ECOMM leadership in ECOMM’s R&D processes and innovation.  *Lead and collaborate with team members in continuous service improvement

Must Have:

*Proficiency with unix based environments, especially RHEL *Proficiency with REST and HTTP caching. *REACT proficiency to enhance performance would be ideal. *Ability to break down tasks into stories and deliver incrementally *Solid understanding of modular design and separation of concerns *Skills in at least one build system Jenkins, Wercker, CircleCI, etc *Skills in at least one orchestration tool Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc *Expertise in Git *Skills in at least one object-oriented language(s): Java, Python, etc *Skills in at least one functional programming (Haskell, Erlang, Elixir, Kotlin, F#) *Javascript (ESNext) *Proficiency with both SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySql, Postgres, Mongo, Dynamo, …)

Nice to have:

*Engineering leadership experience *Experience with Redis, Varnish, and/or Akamai *Scrum/Agile Experience *Machine Learning Experience *Cloud Architecture Experience (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) *GraphQL Experience
