Docket Specialist or Assistant Managing Clerk

Duties: The candidate will be responsible for daily activities of a full-service Docket and Court Services Department including the filing, serving and retrieval of court documents either physically or electronically and the processing of incoming court documents (both paper and electronic), docketing relevant dates, and running reports. Will provide docket and court services support to litigation attorneys, including research, retrieval, submission and/or filing of legal documents in City, State and Federal Courts or with government agencies. Complete all assigned docketing and calendaring work in a timely and accurate manner. Coordinate or serve as project manager for special projects on an as-needed basis. Assist with procedural research assignments and other administrative projects. Serve documents and arranges for service and filing in other jurisdictions. Monitor court's docket for the firm's active cases. Maintain docket/calendar for litigation attorneys. Screen and review incoming court documents and office correspondence in order to calculate and capture relevant dates into the firm's calendar database/docketing system. Ensure that lawyers are notified of filing deadlines and court appearances. Perform electronic court filings for state and federal district and appellate courts. Review, for form and procedural compliance, documents served and filed by the firm.

Maintain litigation case calendars.
