Join the University of Southern Maine’s Mathematics and Statistics Department and STEM Outreach and Services and become a key member of the team.

The Administrative Specialist position pays $14.72/hour (non-negotiable) and is based on USM’s Gorham Campus. Standard hours are 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

This position is the primary point of contact for the Math and STEM programs and must be someone enthusiastic about customer service, supporting potential students, current students, faculty members, and members of the USM community. This position will perform a wide variety of administrative duties in support of daily operations, including communication, records maintenance, and participating on special projects.

The ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work independently and in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail are essential. The successful candidate will be a proactive, well-organized individual with excellent written, phone and verbal communication skills. The Department utilizes various data systems and web platforms and requires someone with the ability to navigate such systems.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)

Minimum of two years administrative support experience

Skilled in basic software programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, but not limited to those listed here.
