Job Overview: A prominent legal practice is seeking a skilled and motivated attorney to join their Employment Law and Litigation team. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional with 1–5 years of experience, excellent writing, research, and communication abilities, and a passion for employment law. The role involves handling various aspects of employment law, including litigation defense and risk management, and requires a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support in federal and state employment law cases, including:
    • Handling claims related to wrongful termination, discrimination, defamation, and trade secret misappropriation.
    • Enforcing restrictive covenants, ensuring wage and hour compliance, and addressing sexual harassment cases.
    • Assisting in risk avoidance strategies and conducting investigations.
  • Prepare and defend legal actions through:
    • Legal research, writing, and motion responses.
    • Discovery compliance and management.
    • Conducting and defending depositions.
    • Preparing for and participating in hearings and trials in administrative, state, and federal courts.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and manage case progress.
  • Engage in class action litigation defense when required.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient workflow to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Requirements:

  • 1–5 years of legal experience, preferably in employment law and litigation.
  • Admission to practice law in Connecticut.
  • Strong academic credentials, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters.
  • Excellent writing, research, and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission in Connecticut (required).

Certifications:

  • Connecticut Bar License (required).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and case management.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and court officials.
  • Experience in deposition preparation and trial advocacy is a plus.
