Description

The Lead DevOps Engineer leads the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level DevOps platforms and tools. Further, this role leads change across the enterprise in the ways software is developed and delivered to align with industry best practices. The Lead DevOps Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The Lead DevOps Engineer performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications for DevOps practices and system at Humana. Develops specifications for new DevOps capabilities and tools. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure adoption of DevOps capabilities across various supported technologies. Creates, maintains and ensures functionality of and adherence to core DevOps fundamentals and CI/CD pipelines, including environment strategy, deployments across environments, performance and the like. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Responsibilities

The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for defining the tools and platforms along with their associated practices necessary for Humana to fully embrace a modern practice of DevOps. The Lead DevOps Engineer contributes to the overarching enterprise technical strategy, solves unique or complex problems that have a broad impact on the business, and takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. This role will be driving the investigation of current and future DevOps capabilities and the adoption of those capabilities across the enterprise. This role focuses on enabling development teams at Humana to be as successful as possible by leading change to the latest tools and technics defined by industry best practice.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

8 or more years of technical experience

2 or more years of project leadership experience

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Experience with configuration and setup of cloud-based environments and associated DevOps policies (SaaS, PaaS and/or IaaS)

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree

Experience with one or more of the following: Azure DevOps, JFrog Artifactory, SonarQube, GitHub, Sumo Logic, Launch Darkly
