Job Description:

Finance Advisor serves as the face of Finance for opportunities or challenges prioritized based on value and risk to the business and functional lines. You will be responsible for the delivery of Finance capability required in Finance functional activities and in independent business decision support. You will support the operation of a proper functioning control framework and high-quality performance management system.

As the Finance Advisor you will be responsible for the following activities based on the assignment to them by the Finance Manager:

Deliver the full suite of Finance support (including tax, treasury, accounting and reporting) autonomously and coordinate the potential involvement of 3rd party advisors or Center of Excellence

Independently ensure that a proper functioning control framework is in place and that risks are properly understood, reflected and managed

Independently ensure value and risks are made transparent and understood in both decision making and in performance management

Ensure a fit for purpose performance management system is in place

Support the operation of the performance management framework in order to plan and measure performance accurately.

In activities where Finance Operations, Third party accounting company and Business act together to deliver, lead/initiate structural improvement projects and leaves the accountability for delivery with the accountable people

Actively look for opportunities to reduce non value adding Finance activity

Ensure licence to operate and manage that as a first priority

Skills and Requirements:

Expertise across the spectrum of Finance competencies (Accounting, Taxation, Treasury and Management information)

Ability to gain confidence of various internal and external parties building on knowledge and understanding of the business drivers, value and risk

Problem solving mindset with the courage to ensure professional rigor is applied to commercial decision-making process and risk management bringing analytics and insights to the table

Maturity and authority to decide when to involve CoEs and effectively play and independent finance role

Project management skills and flexibility to support multiple activities

Ability to understand the specific business or function context

College or University Degree (Finances, Accounting, Economics)

5 years of professional experience

Have an Romanian Accountant certificate

Professional Growth/Key challenges:

Support the newly established entity in setting up and operating the Finance Function

Work together effectively with the 3rd party accounting company and other 3rd party service providers contributing to the finance function

Cooperate effectively with Finance and other Functions in the wider Shell Organisation

Contribute to the delivery of the Business/Functions specific finance agenda

Ability to apply Finance skills to a variety of business activities and gain better understanding of the end to end value chains

Developing the capability to quickly understand the value drivers, risks, dimensions and key stakeholders.
