Refrigeration Maint- 2nd Shift- Plant II

Profile

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position could work in any department of the Processing facility. Must be able to perform mechanical refrigeration and electrical duties, and make adjustments and repairs. Must be able to manually grease, change oil, and clean various plant equipment. Must be able to monitor equipment and computer boards. Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical problems using detailed schematics and blueprints. Must be able to work safely to ensure proper usage of ammonia and other equipment. Must be able to work with devices that are very fragile and require precise attention. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, turning, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas. Lifting 50 pounds is required in many areas to move equipment and machinery as needed. Must be willing to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and form very wet to very dry.

Position will be for 2nd shift (nights). May work other shifts as necessary.Maintenance crews work 7 days per week. Scheduling can include some major holidays.Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to obtain a company license.Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (ie. Lockout/Tagout).Must be able to comply with OSHA standardsMust be able to train in and use Self-Contained Breathing Air Packs.Must be able to read and write and have a basic knowledge of math.Must be able to move freely throughout the facility (indoors and outdoors), over and around equipment, people and obstacles. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, turning, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas. Must have good hand/eye coordination. Must be willing to climb ladders. Must be willing to reach, lift and work overhead. Must be willing walk, sit or stand for the duration of the shift. Must be able to communicate with other maintenance personnel to receive and pass along information. No beards allowed for safety reasons.
