Iyabak Construction, LLC is seeking a temporary full time Working Construction Superintendent and will be under the General Supervision of the Project Manager or General Manager. Extensive travel within Alaska. To review the schedule against the construction activity, coordinate on-site workforce and subcontractors, conduct weekly meetings and submit reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Coordinates, supervisors, manages, on-site trades personnel and subcontractor work.
Supervise and perform on-site work to ensure the project meets the schedule.
Coordinate the material subcontractor(s) and suppliers requirements with the Project Manager.
Inspect the work of each trade and confirm that not only the quality of the work is up to standard, but that the work is being built in accordance with the plans and specification.
Ensure that the project maintains the required schedule by organizing, planning, monitoring, and inspecting work
Prepare daily progress reports for work performed.
Maintain and enforce safety regulations and building code requirements.
Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner and may serve as the site Safety Representative.
Organize and run weekly safety meetings with in house trade staff and subcontractor(s).
Direct, manage, supervise, work with and coordinate the activities of the various trade groups such as Carpenters, Laborers, Equipment Operators, etc. and Subcontractors on the site to meet the work requirements as described in the plans and specifications or the statement of work on the individual delivery order(s) or Contracts.
Coordinate with the Project Manager or General Manager to ensure that the work progresses according to the schedule, that materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time, that the subcontractor(s)are on the project when required and progress in accordance with the schedule, and that the activities of the various workers do not interfere with one another.
Work with the tools and assists with the coordination between the subcontractor(s), in house workforce and material suppliers.

Job Requirements :
Required (minimum qualifications)
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of seven (10) years of supervisory construction experience.
Experience with vertical and horizontal construction.
Have 10 hr and 30 hr OSHA certifications.
Current CPR/First aid certifications.
CESCL Certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations.
Ability to communicate both orally and writing with internal and external clients and co-workers.
Must be comfortable with high intensity work environment.
Knowledge of applicable codes and regulation.
Proficient in Microsoft computer applications.
Strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate the work requirements with and various staff and subcontractors.
Ability to prioritize, organize and work well under stress and maintain deadlines.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change.
Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet deadlines.
Ability to follow direction.
Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete each task assignment.
Preferred:
Ten (10) years experience in the building trades is preferred
Experience with Government contracting is preferred.
Contractor Quality Control Certificate is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position requires driving and working out of doors in extreme heat/cold and possibly rainy weather.

Coordinates, supervises and manages on-site trades personnel and subcontractor work
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
Steel toed boots required. Reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations. As a condition of employment, candidates for posted positions must have acceptable background check results and pass a pre-employment drug screening. This position may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing on an unannounced basis.
