General Description of Position:
The Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness (PSEP) Assistant Campus Lead is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision, oversight, and leadership for public safety and emergency preparedness for the campus and campus security staff. The PSEP Assistant Campus Lead will report directly to the Director of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness while working collaboratively with campus leadership and other key campus and community stakeholders
Major Responsibilities:
Assist in the recruitment, selection, retention, and development of PSEP staff.
Provides direct supervision and conduct annual evaluations to PSEP staff.
Conduct annual evaluations and approves timesheets for PSEP Staff.
Works with Director of PSEP to establish a threat and risk based front-line staffing plan and implement comprehensive emergency management plans and practices on campus.
Works with Director of PSEP to plan, draft, and execute progressive Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program compliant drills and exercises.
Responds to and assists with all on-campus emergencies by coordinating with first responders and campus leadership.
In line with PSEP standards, utilize technology for physical security including but not limited to surveillance camera systems and electronic access control.
Investigate and write detailed reports for incidents.
Assists in building and maintaining relationships with external partners (law enforcement, fire department, local health department, etc.).
Assists in maintaining campus emergency notification systems.
Works with the Director of PSEP and campus leadership to develop, implement, and maintain programs that ensure compliance with Federal and state safety regulations, including but not limited to fire code, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and the Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
Serve as a model for strong leadership by supporting the Campus culture of collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years related experience showing a progression of responsibility and supervision.
Must be adept at resolving individual and group conflicts, and must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must possess the skills necessary to operate and maintain CCTV and Access Control systems.
Must possess excellent organizational, planning, evaluation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to partner well with colleagues both in and outside of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous public safety experience, preferably in post-secondary education setting.
Other Requirements:
Work Hours:
Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. May be required towork other hours as necessary for coverage and special events.
Hiring Range:
$35,000-37,000 per year, based on experience.
