Together, we are excited to shape the healthcare landscape in concert with our member community.Against that backdrop, we are looking for a visionary leader who can help our organization embrace digital trends to improve the sales process for both clients and agents. To accomplish this, the Edge Sales Director will define the end-to-end omni-channel sales strategy for the Edge markets and will be accountable for field execution and achievement of our sales goals and targets. The Director’s responsibilities require an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the sales organization. This leader will be accountable for building and executing strategic plans to enable growth and will be the sales subject matter expert for the entire Edge organization, with knowledge of internal, external, telephonic, and direct-to-consumer sales channels. He/she will also be accountable for sales budgeting and analytical processes.This position can be based anywhere within the Eastern Time Zone, including a work-at-home arrangement. Significant travel will be required during pre-AEP and AEP periods.
Develop a comprehensive end-to-end sales strategy encompassing telephonic, agent-based, and direct to consumer (DTC) channels.
Work closely with product, technology, and marketing teams to ensure members’ and agents’ needs are articulated and addressed for current and future-state goals.
Develop a robust agent experience model, from pre-AEP through post-enrollment servicing, incorporating elements across Humana to create a seamless experience across plans and be accountable for execution
Develop a training program for MarketPoint sales team members for Edge products.
Work collaboratively with Humana’s current sales organization, coordinating with field, operations, marketing, and technology teams.
Analyze and understand sales trends across channels and coordinate with key internal stakeholders on appropriate activities in response to those trends.
Provide data driven expertise and management reporting to improve sales performance and increase market share while identifying key areas of improvement through trend and utilization analysis.
Manage sales metrics, budgets, analytics and overall growth and take the lead in all Edge sales-oriented activities, including: 1) Make key decisions related to intradepartmental coordination; 2) Develop and implement strategic plans; 3) Achieve targeted business outcomes; and 4) Support operational procedures and processes
Key Candidate Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong vision for how seniors and brokers will engage in the plan selection process of the future and the operational know-how to bring that vision to life. This person must have a passion for sales and an innovative vision based on deep, relevant experience. He/she must be comfortable with fast-paced, innovative teams and a flexible work style focused on collaboration, creating buy-in, and fostering team-based approaches while managing and building positive relationships.
In addition, the following professional qualification and personal attributes are sought:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or a related field is required; MBA or similar degree is a plus
Extensive and progressive sales and account management experience in the health solutions industry, particularly involving a diverse product portfolio
Strong experience in developing and executing sales strategies
Excellent relationship management skills
Broad experience in multi-channel sales including in-home, telephonic, brokers, online, and digital
A record of success in developing innovative approaches to achieve market growth
Ability to easily toggle between highly strategic and highly tactical/hands-on activities
Proven experience successfully building a sales distribution model
Exceptional influencing and communications skills, including the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all organizational levels, and to skillfully convey technical subject matter to non-technical audiences
Experience working across a full product offering and familiar with Medicare sales compliance requirements
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a large geographical territory
Demonstrated management and leadership experience in matrixed environments
Experience with sales analytics and budgeting processes
Valid health insurance license with expectation to obtain license in South Carolina as part of role
Medicare Advantage sales experience
Experience in a start-up business
Familiarity with emerging sales technology trends
