Profile

A law firm in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Mid- to Senior-level Bankruptcy Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large transactions at various stages of bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 cases, representing major parties in interest on both the creditor and debtor sides. The candidate should possess exceptional litigation skills and a deep understanding of complex bankruptcy matters. Previous law firm experience, with responsibilities for pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, and arguing motions, is highly preferred. Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills are essential, and clerkship and court experience are considered a significant advantage.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in various stages of bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 cases.
  • Handle cases on behalf of major parties in interest, both on the creditor and debtor sides.
  • Prepare, file, and argue pleadings and motions related to bankruptcy litigation.
  • Conduct and manage the discovery process, including depositions and document review.
  • Provide sound legal advice and strategic counsel to clients on complex bankruptcy matters.
  • Actively participate in court proceedings, including arguing motions and presenting cases.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals in the firm to achieve client objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Proven experience in large transactions within bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Strong background in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 cases.
  • Experience representing major parties in interest on both creditor and debtor sides.
  • Exceptional litigation skills and a deep understanding of complex bankruptcy matters.
  • Previous law firm experience, with a track record of handling pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, and arguing motions.
  • Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Clerkship and court experience is a significant advantage.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association.

Certifications:

  • Washington State Bar Association membership (required).
  • Clerkship or court experience (preferred).
