Full-Time Position. Monday through Friday 9am- 5:30pm and some weekends. (Independent Contractor) Flexible with some remote work.
Develop and maintain a strong relationship with personnel to serve as a trusted resource for legal issues.
Work closely with business partners and become an integral part of project teams on all platforms.
Lead real property acquisitions, development & dispositions transactions.
Lead review and negotiation of lender related documents.
Negotiate partnership, operating, asset management, property management and development management agreements.
Prepare or review a variety of corporate and organizational documents.
Provide support through the review and negotiation of vendor and other services contracts, broker listing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, etc.
Provide advice on indemnity clauses, guarantees and other provisions, review insurance and indemnity requirements in contracts.
Assist with review and negotiation of development related documents.
Partner with outside legal counsel and manage communications and scope of work as requested.
Provide senior-level advice to business partners.
Assist with Corporate litigation.
Minimum Requirements include:
Must have 8+ years legal experience as Corporate or General Counsel.
Must have knowledge with contracts, Corporate litigation, and Real Estate.
Strong academic record.
Seven or more years of relevant legal experience in partnerships, real estate, and/or corporate matters.
Licensed to practice law in the state of California.
In-house legal experience preferred.
Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
Self-motivated, highly organized and ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail.
Advising executive members on new laws, existing laws and legal rights that would impact the functionality of the business.
Overseeing the legal matters of the business, including acting as the business’ legal representative.
Maintaining knowledge of the company’s legal documents and operations.
Crafting and reviewing legal strategy in response to any litigation.
Keeping a record of all legal documents and proceedings for the company
Facilitating filings of licensing forms and other statutory requirements
Communicating with outside counsel.
Legally filing for copyright of intellectual property.
Composition: Independent contractor. $130k-$150k depends on experience.
