Sourcing and Procurement Manager
The candidate will lead assigned commodity areas, oversee the work allocation, work product and development of the other members in the team and operate as the primary focal point for all related business partner relationships. Work with the Sourcing & Procurement leadership to establish, implement, and communicate formal sourcing and procurement policies, processes and systems throughout the purchasing life-cycle. Create and deliver value to the Firm through achieving significant and demonstrable cost improvement, minimizing risk, and optimizing Firm resources. Lead the negotiation of commodities and associated relationships with suppliers that achieve the optimal combination of service, cost, quality, and risk mitigation. Establish, implement and communicate formal sourcing and procurement policies, processes and systems throughout the purchasing life-cycle. Oversee the analysis of spend activity and identify opportunities to aggregate demand, standardize, and minimize costs. Establish commodity research channels as it relates to your team, suppliers, competitors, commodities, markets and industry verticals. Initiate and lead efforts to source a diverse range of products and services, in particular technology and professional services. Develop and optimize sourcing strategy in a diverse range of commodities. Efficiently and effectively lead the competitive sourcing strategies for your team’s commodities by collaborating with subject matter experts, performing business analysis, developing requirements, and by drafting bid documentation. Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of systems to support the contract lifecycle management policies and process so as to effectively identify contractual risks. Draft, review, and negotiate contractual language and standardize terms to mitigate contractual risks in conjunction with Firm attorneys. Implement and apply robust supplier management policies and governance including appraisal, assessment, on-boarding, risk and performance monitoring, policy compliance, communication and ultimately creating optimized supplier affinities. Provide direction, supervision, guidance, and development to team members, evaluating their performance and workloads to deliver increased performance. Stay abreast of and contribute to sourcing and procurement’s professional trends and functional innovation. Lead and organize activity tracking, project management, and KPI’s to capture and communicate department success. Take on additional responsibilities as needed. Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field is required. Should have 5+ years of purchasing experience. Existing knowledge of general indirect procurement commodities, including technology hardware, software services, professional services is preferred. Recognized Procurement certification in CIPS, ISM or other professional purchasing organization is a plus.
