The Principal IT Business Systems Analyst function implements technical solutions which integrate disparate data sources both within and outside of Medtronic infrastructure into a cohesive analytics ecosystem. This position works under general supervision and designs, develops and implements BI analytic solutions for managed and self-service BI. Provides detailed specifications from which data analytic solutions are implemented, including considerations for error handling and business activity monitoring. Responsible for completing several aspects of a data warehousing solutions including architecture design, programming, testing, debugging, and documentation. Participates in planning processes where application objectives are determined and provides input on processes to resolve complex problems. May interface with departmental managers to assess the need for new or enhanced BI analytic solutions.

**A Day in the Life**
• Works closely with business analysts from multiple business domains to translate their business requirements into fully supportable managed BI and self-service data analytic solutions.
• Translates conceptual integration solutions into detailed technical requirements documents.
• Develops implementation plan for integration solutions.
• Contributes to, follows and enforces established standards, best practices, quality assurance procedures.
• Executes BI projects to meet project objectives on-time and within budget
• Contributes with other BI and Architecture team members to define integrated, strategic technology roadmap and data analytics architecture.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
8 years experience in an IT analyst role
Database platforms of iSeries (primary), Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
ETL systems Informatica PowerCenter or Microsoft SSIS
Design, Code, and Test solutions in the tools listed
Capable of supporting business processes which span multiple business domains
**Nice to Have:**
- Capable of designing reusable components for the BI analytics architecture.
- Capable of understanding the benefits of the various design methodologies for managed and self-service BI solutions.
- Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules
- Understands the necessity of project standards and applies them consistently
- Prioritizes multiple tasks effectively
- Has the ability to handle advanced tasks with minimal supervision
- Has the ability to mentor less senior members of the team
